Last weekend, I got the chance to get out and capture some really fun shots. For the past month, my mother-in-law has been extremely ill, and we thought we might lose her. Thankfully, she is back home with us, but needs total care 24/7. So, I have been a bit busy lately since I am also working full time as a Radiation Therapist treating cancer patients. I have been doing some commissioned portraits, and working on personal projects, but this outing was all about fun. This guy worked hard to give me his all, and I loved every minute of it.

I find the captivity of these magnificent creatures very sad, yet their reality in the wild seems equally as sad as their numbers dwindle due to mankind’s interference with their habitat and poaching. I spent the afternoon watching them in awe, but I began to sense that I was not the watcher- but the watched.

I hope that you enjoy my work,

Mary Michelle Scott
