My inspiration

As I spend my days helping cancer patients in and out of the Radiation Therapy treatment room, I reflect a lot on the dreams we carry through life’s journey. Dreams that inspire, and dreams that hold us back, you know the scary ones that sometimes hang around a lot longer than we want them to. I am not sure what I hope to accomplish with this blog, other than to share the stories behind the artwork and images that I create. Hopefully, my work will bring some meaning to your life, or simply a smile.

Perhaps, caring for people who are facing their mortality on a daily basis, helping them through their really tough times, holding them when they cry, stopping to listen when they need to rage, and watching as they fight for their lives has pushed my imagination to create an escapism. A place to step away, and let yourself become immersed in a fantasy, a beautiful place where you don’t feel pain. My work on this blog is dedicated to all of my patients that I truly love, and my co-workers in this field that show their love and compassion on a daily basis.

I don’t know what is the favorite part to my art, the photography and travelling, or the post processing and compositing. Maybe, it is when I see that it has meaning for others. This is my workup on the eye of a mother dragon in an image I just completed, I had a blast illustrating and painting this piece and I will share my dragon series with you further down the road when the dreams take us there. The first stop past the veil is the Bridge of Dreams, unless of course you crawled through the portal. Then you might encounter the dragons sooner.

I’ve started reading the dream world of Mary Michelle, not to be confused with Michelle Marie. I’m on the third post and I am utterly entranced by not only the journey she has painted, but the computer graphics that she has designed to go along with these posts. Please enjoy this blog as much as I do!

  4. I like Lisa am entranced, Mary Michelle. I will be back as often as I possibly can. I am really glad I took the time out to see more of you and your work. God bless you for working with cancer patients. I was an RN working in an SICU for almost 6 years before my back injury, so I know the stress you have. Big (((HUGS))) Amy
